    Corona is a common electrical fault phenomenon in high-voltage motors and variable frequency motors. Especially for high-voltage motors, when the rated voltage of YE3 motor is not less than 6kV, there are more occurrences of corona during the operation of YE3 motor. Especially in high-altitude, humid or corrosive gas environments, the corona voltage will decrease. Repeated corona phenomena can have adverse effects on the insulation system of YE3 motors. Therefore, necessary crown protection measures should be taken both at the manufacturing and usage levels.

    Due to the particularity of the rated voltage of high-voltage motors, the stator winding adopts thick insulated electromagnetic wire, mostly mica or wire wrapped electromagnetic wire. After the stator coil is wound and coated with adhesive, it is necessary to wrap the coil with multiple layers of mica insulation tape, and then wrap it with blocking tape or apply anti corona paint on the outer layer. In general, wrapping the low resistance tape around the straight edge of the YE3 motor coil and wrapping the high resistance tape around the end is a preventive measure against the corona phenomenon that may occur during the operation of the YE3 motor; Can we learn from the relevant measures in the transmission process of high-voltage conductors and take necessary prevention and control measures for corona problems?

    Message on YE3 motor corona issue: High voltage current generates heat on conductor materials. When hot and cold air diffuses in the air, there will be stratification and differentiation between low and high temperatures; The solution may be to design the conductor as a double layer, similar to aluminum clad copper, or copper-clad aluminum, or to electroplate copper with nickel, so that the heat generated by the current can be conducted layer by layer through the material without contacting the gas in the space.
